Did you survive your Thanksgiving holiday? Our Thanksgiving started with a fire in the oven. I forgot to clean out the burnt cheese from many pizza nights, and a little cinnamon sugar and butter from Shaye's monkey bread, that made the perfect combination to start a fire in the oven. I had to put the crock pot into use. I have never cooked my turkey in the crock pot, so I had to call my sister, Ruth, for advise. A few hours later, of scrubbing the oven, I was able to use the oven again. I will have to put "clean the oven" on my to do list next year.

Finally the meal was prepared, the table was set, and the drinks just needed to be served. I heard a loud crash in the kitchen....and glass was everywhere. One of the stemware glasses rolled off the counter and broke all over the floor. We got it all cleaned up and finally sat down to enjoy our meal. It turned out pretty good, except I made enough food for 3 families. All my recipes for thanksgiving are for a lot of company! This year we decided to stay home so it was just the four of us.

Lets see...we had turkey for four days, 4 different pies ( i ate a whole pecan pie by myself), we ate mashed potatoes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and we're still working on the sweet potatoes. I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving as much as my family and I did.
Now...the start to the Christmas preparations. Shaye has been helping me make all our gifts this year. I also need to start my holiday cards, and the best part...decorating the house.
Happy Holidays!
